How it works

How to swap with MetaMask

  1. Install MetaMask and unlock it.
  2. On Shieldz, choose Connect, then MetaMask, and approve the connection in MetaMask.
  3. Pick the coin you have and the coin you want, enter an amount and paste the address you want to receive at.
  4. Review the quote, then approve the deposit in MetaMask. Shieldz tracks the swap until it lands.
Good to know

Before you swap

You sign in MetaMask as usual, but the swap runs through Shieldz, so MetaMask’s own swap fee does not apply.

On a $1,000 swap
MetaMask's own swap$8.75
MetaMask + Shieldz$1.50

That is $7.25 kept per $1,000. Fees from MetaMask's published pricing, checked October 2026; network fees apply either way.

FAQ

Swapping with MetaMask: common questions

Is Shieldz affiliated with MetaMask?

No. MetaMask is a trademark of its owner. Shieldz is an independent swap interface that works with MetaMask: you sign in MetaMask, and Shieldz never sees your keys.

Which chains can I swap from with MetaMask?

Ethereum, BNB Chain, Base, Solana, Arbitrum, Gnosis, Polygon, Monad, Optimism, Avalanche, Berachain, HyperEVM, Tron, Linea, X Layer, Bitcoin, Blast, Plasma, Scroll, Soneium, Unichain, Abstract, Celo, Mantle, Sonic and zkSync. You can receive on any of the 45 chains Shieldz supports by pasting an address.

What does it cost?

Shieldz charges 0.15% per swap. MetaMask's own swap charges 0.875%. Using MetaMask with Shieldz, you only pay the Shieldz fee plus network fees.

Do I need to export my seed phrase?

Never. You connect MetaMask like any website and approve each transaction in it. Shieldz never asks for a seed phrase or private key.
