Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Shieldz Swap: the website at swap.shieldz.cash, the API at api.shieldz.cash, and the routing software behind them (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by the Shieldz team ("Shieldz", "we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these terms, to our Privacy Policy and to our Risk Disclosure. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
These terms are separate from the terms of the Shieldz payments product at shieldz.cash, which covers merchant accounts and hosted checkout.
1. What Shieldz Swap is
Shieldz Swap is a non-custodial interface. It asks independent third-party protocols for prices, shows you the routes they offer, and helps you build and send a transaction from your own wallet. The protocols we currently route through are NEAR Intents (1Click), Chainflip, Relay and THORChain; memecoin swaps on Solana go through Jupiter.
- We never hold your funds or your keys. You sign every transaction in your own wallet. We cannot move, freeze, recover or reverse your assets.
- We are not a party to your swap. The swap is executed by the protocol you choose, on its own network and under its own rules. We do not act as your broker, agent, exchange, custodian or adviser.
- Deposit addresses come from the protocols. When a route needs a deposit, the protocol issues the address and controls what happens to funds sent to it.
2. Eligibility
To use the Service you must:
- be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, whichever is higher;
- not be a person or entity named on, or owned or controlled by anyone named on, a sanctions list, including the U.S. OFAC Specially Designated Nationals list and the sanctions lists of the United Nations, the European Union and the United Kingdom;
- not be located in, ordinarily resident in, or acting on behalf of anyone in a country or region subject to comprehensive sanctions, currently including Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and the Crimea, so-called Donetsk People's Republic and Luhansk People's Republic regions of Ukraine;
- be legally allowed to use a service like this where you are.
We may block access, addresses or transactions that we reasonably believe are connected to sanctioned persons or regions, stolen funds or other illegal activity, without notice.
3. Quotes and swaps
- Quotes are estimates. A quote is what a protocol expected to deliver when it answered. Prices move, and the amount you receive can differ from the quote. You set (or accept) a slippage tolerance, and the "Minimum received" shown before you confirm is the least the route is expected to deliver; some routes apply slippage only when the swap executes.
- Quotes expire. A quote is only valid for a short time, shown in the app. Deposit addresses also have a window; funds sent after it may be refunded instead of swapped.
- Refunds. If a swap cannot complete, the protocol returns the funds to the refund address on the chain you paid from (normally the address you paid from), less any network or protocol costs it has already incurred. Refund timing is decided by the protocol.
- Send exactly what the app shows. Sending a different asset, a different amount, on a different network, or without a required memo can delay a swap or lose the funds permanently.
- Transactions are final. Blockchain transactions cannot be reversed once confirmed.
4. Fees
Every fee is already taken out of the amount you are shown to receive, and the app shows each route's service fee before you confirm. Currently:
| Route | Service fee |
|---|---|
| NEAR Intents | 0.15% |
| Relay | 0.15% |
| Chainflip | 0.15% (0.10% to Shieldz, 0.05% to the broker operator) |
| THORChain | None |
| Jupiter (Solana memecoins) | 0.15%, taken in SOL or USDC |
The protocols also charge their own fees, which are part of the quote and are not ours: for example NEAR Intents' 0.20% platform fee, and liquidity, outbound and network fees, and your wallet charges the network fee to send your transaction. We may change our service fee; any change is shown in the app before you confirm a swap.
5. Request links
You can create a link asking someone to pay you a set amount of a set asset at an address you choose. The payer swaps through the Service like any other swap, and the funds are delivered by the protocol directly to your address. We do not hold funds for either side, cannot settle disputes between you, and do not verify who you are paying or being paid by.
6. Third-party services and assets
The Service depends on protocols, wallets, blockchain nodes and token issuers we do not control. Their own terms apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for their conduct, availability, pricing, failures or losses.
- Tokenised stocks, ETFs and USDon are issued by Ondo Finance and are not available to U.S. persons or in other jurisdictions restricted by the issuer. They track an underlying asset but are not the asset itself, and the issuer's terms decide your rights.
- Gold tokens (Tether Gold, PAX Gold) are issued by their respective issuers under their own terms.
- Memecoins on the Memes tab are unverified and can be worthless or fraudulent. Listing a token is not an endorsement.
7. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for the security of your wallet, keys and devices; for checking every address, network, asset and amount before you sign; for using the official site (swap.shieldz.cash); and for any taxes and reporting that apply to your transactions.
8. Prohibited use
You may not use the Service to launder money, finance terrorism, evade sanctions, move stolen or fraudulently obtained assets, or for any other illegal purpose. You may not interfere with the Service, attack or overload it, get around its rate limits or access controls, or misrepresent your location.
9. No advice
Nothing on the Service is investment, financial, legal or tax advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any asset. Prices, routes, labels and "verified" markers are information, not advice.
10. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee it. Protocols, chains or assets may be added, paused or removed at any time, and a route shown one moment may be unavailable the next. We may change, suspend or end any part of the Service, and may restrict access in any jurisdiction.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of quotes, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shieldz is not liable for: losses from price movements, slippage, expired quotes or failed swaps; the acts, failures, pauses or exploits of any protocol, bridge, chain, wallet or token issuer; funds sent to a wrong address, network or asset or without a required memo; loss or theft of your keys or devices; or any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the service fees we received from your swaps in the twelve months before the claim.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Shieldz and its team from claims, damages and expenses arising from your use of the Service, your breach of these terms, or your breach of any law or third-party right.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date above shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
15. Dispute resolution
Any dispute arising from these terms or the Service shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If it cannot be resolved informally, either party may pursue resolution through binding arbitration under the rules of a mutually agreed arbitration body. Class actions and jury trials are waived to the extent permitted by law.
